At Michael Hughes & Associates, LLC we understand how stressful and overwhelming a legal entanglement can be. We also understand that when you run into legal difficulties you need someone you can trust to handle all matters of your case as if they were their own.

Unlike most larger firms, who are more concerned with billable hours than resolving legal matters, we are a small firm that focuses on helping people solve their legal problems. We are a general practice law firm with the sole goal of solving your legal problems; without emptying your pockets.

If you should find yourself facing a DUI or other criminal charges, firm founder Michael Hughes is a former judicial law clerk and alcohol highway safety school instructor with an extensive background in criminal defense. To help ease the many uncertainties faced by criminal defendants, we offer flat rate fees for most matters. Additionally, although we are based in Allegheny County, we also serve, and have experience in most other counties in Western Pennsylvania. When you are in trouble in another county, it helps to have someone who knows the local customs.

We also offer a full range of legal services to small business, including entity formation, contract writing, and any business related litigation. We are able to provide our small business clients with far more personal service, at far more reasonable rates, than any large law firm.

We also handle estate planning, will contests, and probate matters.
